Good Morning and Welcome to the Party!

  • Andrew David in
  • Jon Runyan, Jr. in
  • Grant Perry in
  • Nolan Ulizio in
  • Tyree Kinnel in
  • Karan Higdon commits!!!!
  • Clark to UCLA
  • Grant Newsome in
  • Brady Hoke to ND   Brady has said it's not happening.
  • Zach Gentry is in
  • AL CB Keith Washington has flipped to Michigan (he didn't even take an official to Michigan) - LOI is in.
  • Ruben Jones is in
  • Mike Weber to OSU
The word is Michigan is no longer in the running for Van Jefferson as well.
Weber's announcement pushed to 10:30 and it sounds like he might have flipped back to OSU.   That is one crowded roster if that is where he goes.  Sam Webb said that Weber did take an official to Michigan last week.   That his good friend Joshua Alabi and OSU commit worked him all night about joining OSU.  I'm also guessing that the Higdon commit didn't help either.

On Deck: Mike Weber at 10:00 and Van Jefferson and Roquan Smith at 11:00.

9:00: Crazy day so far.  Michigan lands a new RB commit in Karan Higdon and two services are saying his commit will or won't effect Mike Weber's fax destination.    Clark picks UCLA and Brady Hoke has taken at job at ND as their Dline coach.   That has to be a first.  Should hear about Weber around 10:00.  Wheat at 3:15 between Michigan and UCLA.  UCLA is having a huge day.

    Karan Higdon:

I will be live blogging as LOI's hit the fax machine:

There seems to have been some positive movement in the recruitment of Weber and Jefferson last night.   Let's hope that's true.  A name we haven't heard in awhile is former January visitor DE Shelton Johnson who is expected to have Michigan in his top two with Florida State.

    Known Announcement Times
    - 11 AM, Van Jefferson
    - 8:30 AM, Chris Clark (ESPNU)
    - 11 AM, Roquan Smith (ESPNU)
    - 2:45 PM Shelton Johnson (Sometime around 3 as well)
    -3:15 PM, Wheatley, Jr.
    - 4 PM, Iman Marshall (ESPNU)

Praise the lord!... and pass the ammunition. Feel good about today... me thinks we get 8 to 10 signs more... then have to wait for attrition... or gray shirt.

thank heaven for "Seven Eleven"...and this blog and three others... because papers like the "Detroit Free Press" have lost touch with the real world...one beat reporter said today would be a kinda "lost cause" for Michigan...he's the same guy that would go to a golf course and hit the ball in the opposite direction. The blogs have their fingers on the pulse of what is really going on.. Maybe some of the sportswriters for The free Press and the news can star in a remake of the movie "Clueless". It's that bad.

Bob,

I heard buzz last night about Karan Higdon, 4* RB, iowa commit, but has said he's down to Michigan and Iowa.
Either he's doing this for attention, or maybe he could be the surprise today!

Who's the last Hawkeye rb to play on sunday? There's even been talk of Ferenz being on the hot seat...

maybe!

FYI: Ole Miss is posting LOI's on their website as they arrive, 8:28 and no Jefferson yet.....

Clark to UCLA. Can't say I'm surprised. With the parents wanting Michigan and Chris wanting UCLA, it kind of felt like Malik McDowell all over again. Oh well. Best wishes to him in sunny L.A.

Iowa is ACL tear U for RB's. Doesn't seem all that long ago that we had the RB out of Kentucky and Weber in our sights but still nice to get this last second commit!

I absolutely cannot believe that Clark picked UCLA. That's got to be the dumbest choice for a kid I have ever seen.
-Across country
-to a team that doesn't use TE's
-not taking the team that will surely use the TE
-to a lesser academic institution

Ridiculous choice.....

I was never "all in" on Clark anyways, he runs very stiff and doesn't have good speed in/out of cuts. He would be a blocking TE in the long run. Hopefully Wheat Jr comes on over....

Van Johnson to Tenn

van jefferson?

I will tell you one thing. UCLA better not steal Wheat Jr. they are on fire today.

OSU has like a 100 kids on the roster right now. SEC in the Big Ten. I hope Weber isn't one of them.

brady to ND... well, we did gain more yards than they did in the ass kicking they put on us in Sept...

I say in jest....

GO BLUE.

@ Scott

The Freep is a joke. Their reporters if you even call them that don't have any clue what is going on. No facts, just typical negative opinions. I would trust the National Enquirer.

Just like we offered the Duke coach the job.

I am pretty sure they all reported Michigan has no chance to get Harbaugh.

Wrong at every step.

They can go back to ignoring what a joke Izzo is these days.

weber conflicted.... that blows me away..
mike, see Bironte dunn to get a view of your future at osu....

willie sykes looks like this years version of chris barnett... he has been committed to three schools in the past 48 hrs.

I really liked what I saw on Higdon's videos. Has enough speed to run away from DBs, but also runs tough inside. He could really end up being a "good get".

Is Gentry in ?? didn't see him listed.

Yes, he is in

Jefferson and wheatley would make for a really, really nice close to the class...

Awesome that we got the two flips that no one saw coming!

HILARIOUS that Weber went to the Bucks. I hope he enjoys riding the pine behind Elliot for the next 2 years. Why a between the tackles running back would choose to go play in a spread offense vs a pro Style offense is beyond me. No big loss here at all. I actually like Higdon on tape way more than Weber. Weber has no burst at all. He's runs like Derrick Green's little bro.

I just don't understand how kids like Weber and Clark make those choices. Clearly they're bad fits for where they are going. It's like they don't even do any research.

it is hard to understand, but consider 18 year old kids don't always make rational decisions.

Bikinis on the beach in Southern California can have a pretty strong pull on an 18 year old boy....

National championship trophy and urban liar's line of BS clearly can also.

Jim did great considering he had a month to recruit.... and don't let the star ratings fool you.

JJ Watts, two star recruit
Mike Hart two star recruit
Jordan Kovacs, unrated recruit.....
