Former Michigan Wolverines had a solid draft this past weekend. Funchess was the first Wolverine taken early in the second round by the Carolina Panthers and Jake Ryan went in the 4th round to the Packers. A former Wolverine who was thrown off the team in November, Frank Clark also went in the second round to the Seattle Seahawks. Seattle didn't have a 1st round pick so Frank was their top draft pick in the 2015 draft.
Funchess wasn't going in the 1st round after his combine 40, but going to a team with a big need for WR's has to be a plus. Is Jake Ryan a perfect fit for Green Bay or what? I can see Jake playing MLB for them for 10 years.
Now to the Free Agents:
Devin Gardner - Didn't get drafted, which wasn't a surprise because he is changing positions. He is going to the Super Bowl Champions and will get a chance to make the team on special teams as he continues to learn the WR position. DG will need a very good camp and pre-season to make this team. I would be on the call with Tom right now on what it takes to be a Patriot WR. If you missed it, Tom was the KY Derby and Mayweather fight on Saturday. Private aviation = Yes, please! Tom and Robert Kraft had better seats then Trump and many other celebrities.
Brennen Beyer - signed with the Ravens.
Delonte Hollowell signed with the Lions.
Former Wolverines:
Thomas Rawls signed with Seahawks after transferring to CMU.
Ray Vinopal signed with the Cowboys after transferring to Pitt.
Congratulations to all the players that got drafted or signed contracts.
Things that just hurt my head when I hear them
Mel Kiper today said that OSU's Joey Bosa might be the top player in the draft next year. For you that follow recruiting closely know that Brady Hoke in all his wisdom turned down this 5 star player, when he was looking for a landing spot. Speaking of Hoke's wisdom, he used to joke that he turned down offering Jake Ryan a scholarship while he was at SDSU.

Maybe Hoke has a future in Hollywood. The next remake could be Hoke as the Jokester in the Batman series. what a laugh; Hoke would not have to act, just be himself.
