Michigan Tuesday: Prayers up For Michigan State

I'm so tired of the situation that happened at Michigan State last night.  Never in my life did I enter a school as a child or University as a young adult with the thought someone might drive up and open fire for no reason.   A very sad day in East Lansing.

  • The Detroit News got the information on the Matt Weiss firing which didn't give us any new information.
  • There are now 2 well-funded pro football spring leagues in the US with the XFL restarting this weekend and the USFL starting in a couple months.  Still Shea Patterson has to look to join a team in the CFL and is now a Saskatchewan Roughriders.
  • Indy hired Shane Steichen the Eagles OC as the new Colts head coach.  I guess Jeff Saturday can go back to Get Up on ESPN.

67 mass shootings in the U.S. this year. Mass shooting is defined as 4 or more injured or dead. That's almost 1.5 per day.

So perhaps we should stay alert wherever we are.

Hate to do this here, but below is a list of Michigan US Rep's who voted against last gun control bill (some are no longer in office):

Jack Bergman of Michigan
Bill Huizenga of Michigan
Lisa McClain of Michigan
Peter Meijer of Michigan
John Moolenar of Michigan
Tim Walberg of Michigan

But, there is now a house that probably won't come up with anything meaningful and a senate that can't overcome the filibuster, not to mention the SC. But, awareness by those concerned could influence long term. Just for awareness, not taking sides or indicating a specific proposal.

Writing a politician is the same as writing Santa Clause. Politicians are all crooks. They vote on party lines and represent lobbyists that that lined their pockets. They do not care about U.S. citizens. They just lie, lie, lie. We will never get an honest answer from them.

This is sad because the U.S.A. is the only country in the world that has these mass shootings. Laws won't change because the 2nd ammendment guarantees gun rights. Might want to focus on mental and emotional health. Social media could be the root of the problem.

I will agree that it is sad, but it is not the only country. I have no doubt that in total numbers no other country comes close. But surprisingly (to me) there are a number of countries that have higher rates per capita.

UM has 100+ young men on the roster. Coaches have to try and maintain an order and discipline that these young men will adopt into their character. Yet, there's always a few that do some dumb things.....even criminal things. So Chas...calling out politicians cuz some idiot wants to kill people is as stupid as thinking the coach has total control. Sometimes bad people will do bad things.

Focus needs to be on the ROOT causes (know the cause, fix that, and stop only treating the symptoms). How many of these killers are:
From fatherless homes or homes without positive male role models?
Prescribed a medication (with psychological side effects)?
Spend time playing video games and little time with friends or family?
Don't have a faith that grounds them, that they adhere to, or provides a basic sense of morality?
