Michigan Monday: Rings and Things

The 2022 Michigan Wolverines received their Back 2 Back Big Ten Champions rings this weekend.   It's been a really long time since that happened! Congratulations to all the players, coaches, and staff that made this happen.  P.S: Don't put that ring on eBay, because I might just need to snag it!  😅

As reported on Friday, Will Johnson's off-season surgery turns the question marks at CB into a critical situation.  Which prompted UMass graduate transfer Josh Wallace to take an extended official visit to Ann Arbor this weekend.  Josh didn't commit while on his visit, but insiders are saying the coaches are feeling confident it will be good news coming from Josh soon.   Can't have a better opportunity, than being a starting CB on defending Big Ten Champions.  I guess the vibe between Don Brown and Harbaugh is still solid.

  • Remember Phil Paea, a former Michigan lineman? He transferred to Utah State after not finding a role in Ann Arbor.  He has now transferred again and will play at Oklahoma.
  • Blake Corum is reportedly 100% healthy now and ready to start doing football drills.  For a guy that doesn't stop working, I wonder what he has been doing in the gym for the last 7 months?
  • Brian Robinson is a 4-star edge from Youngstown who has been to Ann Arbor a number of times, and took an official this past weekend.  He seems like a lock but the longer his recruitment goes, the worse it is for Michigan.
  • Jacob Smith is a 4-star edge rusher from Cheshire Academy, CT visited Ann Arbor this weekend with his twin brother of current Michigan commit Jerod.  Some have put in a CB for Jacob to Ann Arbor, so their parents don't have to travel to multiple places to watch a game.
  • Duncan Robinson's 10-point 4th quarter drove the Heat to tie the NBA Finals series.
