Heritage Collegiate Apparel which is commonly known as the MDen filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Friday saying it has up to $50M in liabilities and expects to sell the company. What I didn't know was that U of M owns the term "MDen" and the proposed plan is Legends Global Merchandise to become the official Michigan store moving forward. We expect Legends is planning to purchase Heritage Collegiate Apparel if their debt doesn't outweigh their value.
Legends is a multifaceted sports business firm funded by private equity Sixth Street with minority owners that include the Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees. Legends has its own problems as the DOJ just sued them over a $2.35 billion acquisition of ASM Global that does booking and management of stadiums. Legends is accused of premerger coordination and seemingly has paid a $3.5M settlement to end the law suit.
Better spend those MDen gift cards soon!
- Brady Hart threw 5 TD's as Cocoa High School in FL opened up against a cupcake. They won 70-0.
- Sounds like Hill is well positioned to be CB2 across from Will per coach Morgan.
- Mazi had a serious allergic reaction to something and missed the Cowboys - Raiders pre-season game.
- Can't believe we are under 2 weeks away from Michigan Football!

Well if Legends does buy the Mden, I hope they keep all the employees that are working there right now.. I know the manager she is excellent she's great does anything for you.. the other employees are really nice to 🙂
I will miss the MDen. It was like walking into a Michigan fan toy store. I wonder if there will be any sales? I'm always looking for new gear.
Speaking of new gear, I was in Ralley House this weekend and noticed they had the Maize 3rd jersey for football. What was noticeable is that it was all Maize with no blue trim around the collar and sleeves. Just a blue number. I wonder if this is something Michigan is planning on revealing during the season? I kinda liked the blue trim, to be honest.
