After 40 years of service Jon Falk is planning on stepping down as Michigan's Equipment Manager. Jon has worked for coaches Schembechler to Hoke and is pretty much what the Michigan Football Program is all about. I love this quote from his press release.
“I remember the day that Bo Schembechler interviewed me and said that working at the University of Michigan would present great opportunities for my career,” said Falk. “He offered me the position but I decided that staying home to care for my mom and grandmother was more important. My mom woke up at 4 a.m. and came to me with tears in her eyes and said, ‘Jon, you are going to Michigan. Bo and the University of Michigan are going to take care of you and this will be a great career move.’ As I reflect on my nearly 40 years at Michigan, I have been fortunate to work with some great coaches, administrators and thousands of players. After talking with Dave Brandon about my retirement, I realized that Bo and my mother were right. Dave and Michigan have taken care of me. I’m appreciative of all that I learned, was a part of and contributed to at Michigan. This is a special place and I will always love Michigan and Michigan Football.”
A famous Mark Twain quote is: "make your vocation your vacation", which I believe really sums up Jon's 40 years at Michigan. I'm betting he loved pretty much everyday of those 40 years. His retirement is effective after the bowl game.
- Ohio State's football program had a difficult weekend:
- Starting CB Bradley Roby was taken into custody on a battery resulting in bodily injury charge.
- Safety Vonn Bell was arrested for minor possession in Tennessee.
- Incoming freshman OL Tim Gardner was arrested and charged with obstruction of official police business.
I'm sure Urban Meyer is going to love Big Ten Media Days!
Here is a cool photo from Devin's Twitter account:
I think they forgot to delete some legs and a thigh pad on the upper right hand corner. :)
- Hoke gives the OSU fan that beat cancer, tickets to the OSU game. Here is a quote from his father: "It's getting hard to keep my dislike for them, because they've been so classy and unbelievable to us," said Troy, a former member of the Buckeyes' marching band. "But it won't be hard to cheer for the Buckeyes."

Because, Mr. Reed, that's the way Wolverine Nation rolls....
GO BLUE!!
My son was asked to play for Michigan state and I am so excited for him. Football is his life and they have such a great program. We are just in the process of looking up movers in MI to take all his stuff there. We are just so proud of him!
