Michigan might have a very big blue chip player on campus this weekend in 5 Star Leonard Fournette.
Here is how the services rank this Running Back:
Rivals: #1 RB and #3 Overall
Scouts: #1 RB and # 1 Overall
24/7: #1 RB and #2 Overall
ESPN: #1 RB and #1 Overall
Leonard Fournette has struck up a strong friendship with Michigan commit Jabrill Peppers. Jabrill has been asking Leonard to take a visit to Ann Arbor to see the Hoke Magic for himself. Leonard is going to be up in Cleveland this week for a 7 on 7 tournament and has talked his dad into visiting Ann Arbor this weekend.
This recruitment has a long way to go and right now Michigan is just an after thought. If he makes it on campus then maybe the Wolverines have an outside chance. Take a second to think about a backfield with Green and Fournette...............................................Ok, times up!
Head to Head Match ups for the final spots in Michigan's class:
Safety:
Montae Nicholson vs. Parrker Westphal = Most of us expected Parrker to be in the class already. There is one thing we know for sure, the Michigan coaches do not like to be kept waiting. I'm guessing Parrker is starting to run out of runway. Advantage = Nicholson
Defensive Line:
DeShawn Hand (DE) vs. Malik McDowell (DT) = Both Please!
Outside Linebacker:
Dwight Williams vs. Jimmie Swain = This recruitment might take awhile and the Michigan coaches don't seem to be in any rush to fill this spot. My gut tells me they are very high on Dwight and would like to try to pull him out of California.
Athlete:
The Michigan coaches will keep one spot open for a top athlete that might want to commit like: Marshon Lattimore, Juju Smith and Adoree' Jackson. Any of these guys could play CB or WR which would be a nice option for the Wolverines who could use speed and game breaking ability on both sides of the ball.
WR = Done
OL = Done
QB = Done
RB = Top Recruit or Done - (I know Kalen Ballage from Colorado has an offer but he hasn't made it to A2 yet)
The BBQ later this month could be really important event if Michigan can get a few of these guys on campus to spend a little time with the coaches and other recruits.
Side Note: George Campbell ran a 4.36 40 at the Opening. He is 6'4! He could be the top player in the 2015 class.
