Michigan Monday: Game Week Look Ahead: Maryland

Michigan is now a ranked team #22 in the AP Poll, thank you very much.   The Jim Harbaugh plan seems to be working quite nicely through 4 games.   With Utah destroying Oregon on Saturday that 7 point loss on a late pick 6 doesn't look so bad now, does it?

This week Michigan will go on the road for the second time this season to play at Maryland.   This will be a new trip for the Wolverines as they played Maryland for the first time as a Big Ten opponent in the Big House last year.

Maryland has had a unique year so far to say the least.   They opened with a win against the Richmond Spiders, week two lost at home to Bowling Green, won the next week against South Florida and then got run out of West Virginia last weekend 45-6.

ESPN Big Ten power rankings, ranks Maryland #14 out of 14 schools.   They rank the 1-3 Purdue Boilermakers at 13.  Both teams have lost to Bowling Green.

This is a night game and will be a big change for the Wolverines after 3 straight noon kick offs.   The Wolverines did have an 8:30 EST start time against Utah week 1.  Michigan is favored by nearly two TD's at 13 points.  Game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.

Maryland gives up 38 points per game and is very balanced on offense by passing for an average 193 yards and rushing for 196.  I wouldn't expect numbers anywhere near that against Michigan's defense.

Maryland is expected to be in all black uniforms and Michigan off course will be wearing the white on whites.

I haven't heard a word on Gary's official visit. Anyone hearing anything? Great game to host the top Defensive prospect in the country, pitching a shut out.
